Infrared synchrotron oscillations in GRS 1915 + 105
We report simultaneous observations of the black hole candidate X-ray transient GRS 1915+105 in the infrared at K and in the radio at 2 cm. Oscillations of period 26 min were observed in both wavebands, having (dereddened) peak–peak amplitudes of about 40 mJy and with the IR leading the radio by 7 min, or perhaps by 33 or 59 min. A synchrotron origin for the oscillations continues to seem very ...
متن کاملSynchrotron radiation in the infrared
2014 Experimental photometric measurements have been performed in the infrared part of the spectrum of the radiation emitted by ACO, the storage ring of Orsay, in view to check the theory in this range. An improvement of more than one order of magnitude in intensity compared to classical sources used in infrared spectrometers can be expected with a specially designed line. LE JOURNAL DE PHYSIQU...
متن کاملSynchrotron infrared photoacoustic spectroscopy
The use of synchrotron radiation ~SR! as a farand mid-infrared source in the measurement of photoacoustic Fourier transform infrared spectra of solids is demonstrated for the first time in this work. Initial experiments were performed at beamline U10A at the National Synchrotron Light Source, Brookhaven National Laboratory. For synchrotron photoacoustic spectroscopy to be feasible, it must yiel...
متن کاملEvidence for Synchrotron Bubbles from GRS 1915+105
We present GMRT observations of the Galactic microquasar GRS 1915+105 at 1.28 GHz for 8 days from 2001 June 18 to July 1. We have seen several isolated radio flares of varying magnitudes (20 50 mJy) and durations (6 35 min) and we model them as due to adiabatically expanding synchrotron emitting clouds (synchrotron bubbles) ejected from the accretion disk. By applying this model, we provide a n...
متن کاملPhase Lags of Quasi-periodic Oscillations in Microquasar Grs 19151105
I report the discovery of hard X-ray phase lags associated with the famous 67 Hz quasi-periodic oscillation (QPO) in microquasar GRS 19151105. The QPO is seen on multiple occasions. For this investigation, I have chosen one particular observation when the oscillation is the strongest. The measured hard lags show strong energy dependence. With respect to the 2–2.5 keV band, the phase lag increas...
